All that space!

One thing I take for granted is space. I used to cram all of my PC stuff into the smallest space and wondered why it was so miserable working and gaming on it. I use three screens for my workstation. I have two mice, two keyboards and two PCs running at all times. It can be a lot to manage. I need the space to be able to move between areas and work. The E-WIN RGB gaming desk is a perfect solution to this. The space is great and it is extremely sturdy. The design works perfectly for me with a couple of exceptions. Desks are kind of like a good mattress, you should really invest in one that fits your life as you spend so much time using it.

Assembly

Breaking open the box reveals a pretty standard selection of pieces. The included hardware is familiar with the bolts and the standard included allen wrench. I suggest investing in a nice screwdriver set with star bits to save yourself the hassle of trying to use that diabolical contraption. Assembly was simple and I was able to do it myself. The base pieces are made of solid aluminum and hold up well. The bolts lined up and everything was fairly simple. Even with the super tiny font on the included instructions I was able to get through it relatively painlessly.

Price I’d Pay: $329

The most complex part is the wiring for the RGB lights. The cables are not labeled so I had to figure out which ones went where. There is a nice groove in the base to run the cables which I always appreciate. I am very pro hiding wires when I can. One note is that the base cable piece was not connected so I had to break open the bundle and plug in the connections. Not ideal, but not game breaking. The control panel sits on the right side and features three buttons. I wish this was connected to a PC with more options, but the standard functions are here and it looks nice once I got it setup.

Design

Space is key for me and the 55 inch model is fantastic. I am able to have both of my keyboards and both mice right on the base. I love the carbon top as well. It means I don’t have to use a mouse pad if I don’t want to. Both of my optical mice work fine on the surface. The RGB control panel is my biggest issue. It sits on the right side on the top. I would have preferred it to be on the front so I didn’t tap it regularly. It is not as sensitive as some touch devices, but I still hit it by accident as it sits right next to my right mouse.

I love how thick the main base is. It fits all my devices and feels sturdy. The base below is also unintrusive. I am not a huge fan of the white color, but outside of that it is perfect. I am also a big fan of the cable grooves underneath. I was able to run everything through them and keep the space below neat and tidy. These are the minor touches that make the difference. The cable management slots on both sides are great if not a bit small. For a desk that spans 55 inches it would be great to have a little larger one on each side. I resorted to removing the sliding door pieces as they could not handle my massive amount of cables.

Spending a ton of time at my gaming desk I notice little things. Moving from my previous desk to the E-Win I noticed how it offered so much more without a much larger footprint. It was just wide enough to house all my devices more comfortably. The height was also just right. I found that I had more space on my keyboard while not getting the same pain in my arm while typing. It is amazing what a couple of inches of space can achieve.

The RGB lights are based on both the left and right side. Each one runs down a strip and looks great. Their functions are basic with standard colors and effects. The control panel basically cycles through them. It is a simple process and I do wish there was an app or PC connectivity that would allow for more customization. I was able to match the color with my mouse and keyboard though so that is a bonus. The strips are also protected so they won’t get scuffed if you have to place the desk right up against the wall.

Overall

I have been extremely happy with all the E-WIN gear I have reviewed so far. Their build quality is top notch and they understand design and practicality while also being extremely cool to look at. This gaming desk is perfect for those who have multiple monitors and need the space to work or game with lots of space to maneuver. The E-WIN RGB gaming desk is perfect for players with a need for space and comfort and I highly recommend it.
