You know it is sad when a game you enjoy playing a little too much is one that has been out for some time on another system. Like most hardcore console gamers I don’t play a whole lot of PC titles, so Theme Park Rollercoaster was fresh to me. I loved the original Theme Park as well as Rollercoaster Tycoon so I had to give this a whirl. Did the PS2 make me believe I was in a real theme park?…nope but I did get a few surprises!
This is sad, disappointing, and just plain ridiculous. A 128-bit powerhouse pushing the least amount of polygons known to man! (not really but I wanna stress my point!) This game is a direct copy of the PC version released over a year ago! This makes me upset everytime they do this! Can’t you at least take some time to use some of that system’s fucking power!?! I guess not eh?
The sound is really great, but it was just as good on the PC so what is the big difference? Nothing really, but I do like the music and in game sounds they make you feel like you are really in a giant wacky theme park.
It took me a little while to get the control scheme down pat, but once I got it, it was smooth sailing from then on. I like the use of the analog sticks and the fluid movement. Can’t complain in this category although mouse support woulda kicked ass!
With the PC version being over a year old and this one being no different, I recommend a rent. This could be your cup of tea, but as the saying goes been there done that! I want a PS2 exclusive Theme Park game…one where it is so realistic that I actually PUKE!
